First Round Results 
The Siena men's golf team shot its way to a fourth place standing through 18 holes at the Lonnie Barton Memorial Invitational this afternoon in Savannah, Ga. Two Saints currently stand in the top-10 individually, led by Dan Abbondandolo who is tied for fifth overall.
Longwood shot a team score of 303 to take the clubhouse lead. Miami of Ohio was second (306), with Towson third (310) and then the Saints with a score of 315, just 12 shots behind the Lancers. Ten teams are involved in the tournament.
Abbondandolo shot a 36 on front nine and finished up with a 40 on the back nine to finish Day one at +4. Fellow senior James Gifford was tied for ninth overall through 18 holes and just one shot back of Abbondandolo following a first round score of 77. Longwood's Scooter Buhrmann leads all individuals through the first round with a -2 round of 70.
Action continues tomorrow at 9 a.m. with 18 more holes in a shotgun start.
