Lafayette Final Results 
Senior captains James Gifford and Dan Abbondandolo highlighted a strong showing from the Siena men's golf team as the Saints finished tied for fifth overall at the Lafayette Invitational which concluded Sunday afternoon in Center Valley, Pa. Lehigh ran away with the event, finishing 15 strokes ahead of second place Villanova.
Siena (618) had a solid final round, shooting 10 shots better as a team on the final day to complete play tied with Colgate for fifth. In a jumbled field, the Saints finished just 11 shots behind the second place Wildcats.
Gifford and Abbondandolo concluded solid weekends, tying each other for 17th overall. Both shot +9 for the weekend on the par-72 course, with Gifford leading all Siena competitors with a 74 on Sunday.
Nick Miller and Don DeNyse III also played well, finishing two and four shots respectively behind Gifford and Abbondandolo.
Delaware's Justin Martinson and Villanova's Brendan Kelly led all individuals with +1 scores of 145. Martinson defeated Kelly on a second playoff hole to capture the individual crown.
The Saints return to action in two weekends for their final spring event before the MAAC Championships when they compete in the Navy Spring Invitational. First round action begins on Saturday Apr. 18 in Annapolis, Md.
