The Siena athletic department published the Official Siena Saints Facebook page today, the first step in an aggressive social networking campaign designed to connect with alumni and fans while providing another avenue for promoting its student-athletes.

Fans of the Official Siena Saints Facebook page will be able to discuss the latest Siena athletics news, learn about upcoming events, publish their own fan photos, watch exclusive videos and connect with other fans.

To become a fan of the Official Siena Saints page, CLICK HERE then login to facebook and click "Become a Fan" at the top of the page. Fans are then encouraged to invite their friends to become fans of the page by clicking "Suggest to Friends" on the left sidebar.

"Facebook provides a great opportunity for us to connect with our fans at a different level," Assistant Athletic Director for Communications Jason Rich, who will maintain the page, said. "We know people are passionate about Siena athletics, and by becoming fans of the Official Siena Saints Facebook page, they will be able to demonstrate that loyalty and stay connected with all the latest department happenings. As the world's premier social networking platform, fans will also be able to meet up with other Siena fans on-line and discuss upcoming events, post photos from Siena games and react to updates."

In addition to Facebook, the athletic department has plans to debut its own Twitter page on October 12, just in time for the highly anticipated basketball season. Later in the year, the department will begin updating its own You Tube page.
