Final Stats
Siena lost a 7-0 decision at Connecticut Wednesday falling to 0-1 on the season. The Saints return to action this weekend when they host Hartford and Holy Cross at Schenectady's Central Park.
Freshmen Mike Amico and Dylan Roberts got the nod at the top two singles spots for the Saints. Amico was solid in his collegiate debut, puching UConn's ace Andrew Marcuse before succumbing 6-2 and 6-3. Kevin Gioia shook off a rusty start to nearly win the second set before losing a 6-0 and 7-5 decision at third singles. Senior Jay Godbole also fell in a competitive match at fifth singles 6-4 and 6-4.
The Saints look to rebound Saturday when they face Hartford at Schenectady's Central Park. The women's team will also debut Saturday against the Hawks.
