Keenan Final Results
Sophomore Nick Miller had a career-best showing, finishing 13th overall in leading the Siena men's golf team to seventh place at the Leo Keenan Invitational hosted by St. Bonaventure. The Saints shot a team score of 306 on Monday, placing amongst the leaders in the 13-team field.
Drexel, which entered the final round six strokes off the lead, leapfrogged both Binghamton and the host Bonnies to capture the team crown. Rider's Eric LeFante shot a final round score of 68 to finish -2 for the tournament and win the individual title.
Miller, who showed continued improvement during the spring season culminating in a then career-best 16th place finish at the MAAC Championships, obliterated his best single round score with a 72 on Monday. Miller, who shot a 76 on Sunday, led the Siena contingent.
Junior captain Don DeNyse III (74-79-153) and sophomore Justin Deitz (74-80-154) rounded out the Saints' top-three. Freshman John Van Vranken rebounded nicely after struggling on Sunday, shooting a career-low round of 76 which was second best for the Saints on the afternoon.
The Saints have a short turnaround time as they return to action Friday in Ithaca, N.Y. for the start of the Cornell Invitational.
