The Siena swimming and diving team made its 2010-2011 debut Saturday, falling to New Hampshire 176.5 - 73.5. Senior Brittany Pavolko led the Saints with two victories on the day.
Pavolko first won the 100 fly in 1:00.75, keying a 1-2-3 Siena finish. Junior Katie Carew finished second in 1:03.38, with freshman Lea Allen checking in third at 1:04.49. In the day's final event, Pavolko swam second in Siena's victorious 200 free relay team, which finished in 1:40.48. The team also included senior Molly Chamberlain, freshman Dana Tricarico, and senior Caitlyn Biagioli.
Elsewhere, sophomore Kaela Bjornberg keyed another 1-2-3 finish for the Saints in the 200 IM. She finished in 2:17.13, and was followed by seniors Lauren Maxwell (2:21.66) and Nicole Hagi (2:26.14). Junior Elizabeth Rice took home Siena's other victory, winning the three-meter dive with a score of 196.80.
Siena will next be in action next Saturday, when they compete against Vermont in their home opener.
