Brina Seguine ran the 5K in under 20 minutes leading the Siena women's cross country team to 14th place at the 44th Annual UAlbany Invitational Saturday. Meanwhile, Ryan Egan finished the men's 8K race in a time of 27:14.4 to lead the men's team to 20th place.
Seguine ran in a time of 19:31.4 to finish 52nd overall. Her time greatly helped the Saints average, as she ran over a minute under the team composite of 20:33.2.
Samantha D'Amato (79th: 20.14.8) and Chrissy DelSanto (83rd: 20:17.8) also ran solid races and finished in the top-100. Rounding out the Saints' contingent were Meghan Yi (21:18.3), Talibah Timothy (21:23.6), Jessica Morelli (22:02.3) and Christina Bak (22:09.2).
Egan meanwhile led the men and finished 82nd overall. His time also eclipsed the team average of 27:49.5 by more than 30 seconds. Teammate David Ellsworth (87th: 27:23.1) also finished in the top-100 and beat the team average.
Rounding out the field were John Farley (27:51.7), Mike Thomas (28:10.3), Alex Liontas (28:27.8) and Brendan Gregg (28:35.0) for a young men's squad which featured four freshman runners.
The Saints return to the course for the 2010 MAAC Championships Oct. 29 at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison, Conn. at 12 noon.
