The Siena men's tennis team is 2-5 this fall, and could easily be 5-2. For the third time in just seven matches this season, the Saints lost 4-3. On Sunday, Holy Cross won four of six singles matches after the Saints took the doubles point to claim victory.
Junior Ajeya Shekar won in straight sets at No. 6 singles to break a 3-3 tie as the Crusaders won their second straight match.
For Siena, Mike Amico and Peter Collins remained red-hot, each winning their singles and doubles matches. Both players were pressed to a third set, with Amico losing the first set 6-4 before rallying for consecutive 7-6 wins. Collins won the first and third sets for his sixth win in seven college matches.
Siena took the doubles point, winning matches at No. 1 and No. 2.
The Saints close their fall schedule Saturday against Wagner in Loudonville.
