Saints Rally, Lose in Double Overtime at Binghamton

April 7, 2010

Final Stats

Sophomore attackman Ryan Duggan scored his second goal of the game with 41 seconds left in regulation to force overtime at Binghamton in a non-conference lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon. Senior goalie Brent Herbst made two of his season-high 16 saves in the first overtime period to force a second, but Tyler Perelle scored the game winner midway through the second overtime and gave the Bearcats a 9-8 victory.

The loss snaps Siena's four-game win streak.

Sophomore Bryan Neufeld led the Saints (5-4) with four points on one goal and three assists.

Herbst's 16 saves matched a career-high.

Binghamton (3-7) outshot Siena 36-31 but held a decided advantage in ground balls (29-19) and on face-offs (14-of-21). Senior Bryan Hale won 6-of-12 draws for Siena.

The Saints return to action on Saturday when they face Wagner in a neutral site game at Allen Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
