LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - A total of 15 student-athletes were recognized Saturday at Siena College's annual awards ceremony in the Maloney Great Room. Softball student-athletes Jessica Mushel and Stacie Sueda and baseball's Al Williams each received two awards while 12 other student-athletes joined them in also receiving the Outstanding Academic Athlete Award.
Mushel was one of seven graduating seniors and the lone athletics representative to be distinguished with a Certificate of Honors in History. Teammate Sueda was named a Siena College Honors fellow, while Williams received the award in Economics, B.A. (Major Field).
Additionally, all three student-athletes comprised the 15-member Outstanding Academic Athlete Award. Joining them were Renee Clavette from field hockey, Sarah Fullmer and Sara Parnell from women's basketball, Lauren Garbade and Dinka Keric of women's tennis, Jay and Nikhil Godbole from men's tennis, Samantha Grady and Jed Turnbull from cross country, Christina Macera and Marissa Shibley of women's soccer and Jaclyn Papa from women's lacrosse.
