Siena's swimming and diving team suffered their first loss in three months Saturday, falling 182-106 at Northeastern. The defeat snapped an eight-meet unbeaten streak for the Saints (7-3-1), and eliminates any chance of tying the program's single-season wins record of 10, which was set last season.
Highlights for the Saints included going 1-2 in the 200 fly. Senior tri-captain Brittany Pavolko out-touched teammate Kaela Bjornberg, with both recording respective times of 2:13.42 and 2:13.77. Siena also captured the 400 free relay, with the team of Katie Ness, Molly Chamberlain, Caitlyn Biagioli, and Pavolko stopping the timer in 3:39.12. The Siena divers also had a big day, with Elizabeth Rice and Stacey Morris finishing 1-2 in the three-meter event.
The Saints will return to action next Saturday, when they travel to Saint Francis (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. meet.
