Final Connecticut Cup Results

Sitting 10th after two rounds of play Monday, Siena men's golf tied for 11th at the Connecticut Cup after final round play concluded on Tuesday. Justin Deitz, last year's individual winner, led the Saints by tying for 10th.

While a second consecutive win at the event wasn't in the cards, Deitz shot a respectable third-round 76 and finished six shots behind medalist Jeffrey Merrill of Houston Baptist. Next best for the Green and Gold was junior David Gushee, who fired a team-low round of 75 Tuesday to finish tied for 45th.

Sacred Heart held on for top team honors by a single shot over Rhode Island (882-883). Siena's three-round total of 920 tied it with Colgate for 11th in the 16-team event, two shots out of the top 10.

The Saints complete the fall season at the Lehigh Invitational, which tees off on October 22 in Bethlehem, Pa.
