Complete Results

For the third straight year, Siena swimming and diving hosted Sacred Heart at the Siena Swim Center on Saturday. And for the third straight year, the Saints came out on top, blasting the Pioneers 121-78 in the team's penultimate home meet of the 2011-12 season.

This was the first meet in nearly a month for the Saints (9-3), but the Green and Gold showed no signs of rust. The team was led by freshman Shannon Love, who paced the squad with three wins on the day in the 200 medley relay (1:54.85), 50 free (:24.63), and 100 free (:55.32).

Five Saints, meanwhile, posted two wins. Jacque Medina won the 500 (5:17.04) and 1000 free (10:45.10) events, while Dana Tricarico and Katherine Canavan were part of the victorious 200 medley and 200 free relay (1:44.16) teams. Additionally, Kaela Bjornberg took down the 200 I.M. (2:13.88) and 100 fly (:59.25), and Amanda Podczerwinski won the 100 back (1:02.24) while swimming second on the winning 200 free relay group.

Saturday's win holds special significance for the three-pronged class of 2012. Katie Carew, Emily Schultz, and Kristen Lange have now won 34 career meets, tying the trio with the class of 2011 as the two winningest classes in program history. Furthermore, the squad is now one win away from tying the program's single-season win record of 10 with four meets left on the schedule.

Siena is off until the new year, when they go to MAAC rival Canisius on January 14 for a tri meet that also features Gannon University.
