Final Stats
Michael Amico won 6-4 and 6-2 at top singles, and Peter Collins held No. 3 singles with an exciting 7-5 and 6-4 win, but Niagara won the other four individual competitions and swept doubles play to post a 5-2 win over the Saints in North Tonawanda Sunday morning.
Brandon Gallegos, Mathieu Lacasse, J. Blair-Tedesco and D. Lemieux-Sarrasin each won singles matches for the Purple Eagles. The top two doubles contests were tight with Matt Kane and Lacasse holding off Amico and Collins 8-7 (7-5) in a tiebreaker at top doubles, and Lemieux-Sarrasin and Joseph Zelic winning 8-6 at second doubles.
The Saints return to MAAC action next Sunday when they host Saint Peter's in Loudonville at 10 a.m.
