Round One Results

Siena senior Don DeNyse III began regional play of the NCAA Golf Championships with a 71 Thursday at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The round featured six birdies, including back-to-back red numbers to put the MAAC champion at one-under-par and tied for 12th.

DeNyse was one of just 15 players at the 75-man event to post an under-par score in round one. He is five shots behind current leader Jeffrey Kang of USC, who opened with a six-under-par 66. He leads by two shots over teammate Steve Lim and Dylan Frittelli of Texas.

Play continues with Friday's second round. DeNyse will tee off with Michael Klaric III of Cleveland State and Nick Delio of CSU Northridge.
