Siena College will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, September 27 from 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. in the Sarazen Student Union on campus. The blood drive is open to anyone, and the College is hoping for a large community turnout due to the immediate need in the area.
"There is a critical need for blood donations in light of all the natural disasters we've experienced lately," Judy Dougherty, the associate director of the Franciscan Center at Siena said.
The idea behind the American Red Cross MAAC Blood Drive is a fun and competitive way to emphasize the critical importance of donating blood. MAAC institutions are working with local American Red Cross centers to coordinate a one day campus-wide blood drive. Siena is the first school to hold its drive.
Those interested in donating blood, can contact Judy in the Franciscan Center at 518-783-2333.
