Cornell Invitational Results
Siena Men's Golf finished seventh in the team's 2011-12 debut at the Cornell Invitational. It was the team's best finish in the event since the rain-shortened 2008 renewal, and saw junior John Van Vranken tie for fifth.
Van Vranken shot a one-over-par 73 to finish the 54-hole tournament at +1, a shot out of a three-way tie for second. Lafayette's Carter Rufe led the field from start to finish, and won the individual title by six shots after posting a total score of -6.
Senior Justin Deitz tied for 17th, with a third-round 75 putting him at +6 for the tournament. The Saints finished at +44 as a team, while Binghamton University's +7 total was good enough to win the team championship.
Siena returns to action Friday at the ECAC Division I Championships in Egg Harbor Township, N.J.
