Results 
The Siena swimming and diving team started their season with a splash, as they defeated six other schools in the Catholic Invite hosted by Boston College. Jacque Medina won two individual events on the second day, while Kaela Bjornberg was the top finisher in one.
The Saints experienced their best race in the 500 yard freestyle in recent years, having the top three finishers. Medina topped the 25 swimmer race with a time of 5:18.18, while Emily Carideo and Megan Grace finished behind her wrapping up the top three.
Medina would also pace the 53 player race in the 200 yard butterfly by winning the event by over a full second from second place finisher Aubrey Kettrick of Niagara with a time of 1:58.14.
Bjonberg also experienced success in the Catholic Invite by winning the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.36. The senior also finished third in the 200 yard butterfly and fourth in the 200 yard backstroke.
Carideo also helped the Saints to their successful start. Besides finishing second in the 500 yard free, she also finished third in the 200 yard freestyle.
Another Saint who finished in the top-five was Amanda York, who finished right behind Bjornberg in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.73, good enough for fourth.
The Catholic Invite was scored as a dual meet, and Siena topped six other schools, including MAAC members Niagara (172-161) and Iona (194-130). Siena defeated their upcoming opponent, Holy Cross as well (240-89). The only two schools to defeat Siena were Assumption College and host Boston College.
The Saints will race in their opening home meet on Wednesday October 24, as they take on Holy Cross. The meet will be at Siena Swim Center and will start at 7:00 p.m.
