Round One Scores
Siena men's golf sits seventh in a tightly-packed field after 18 holes at the Lafayette Invitational Sunday. The Saints sit just four shots out of second, but also just three out of ninth with 18 holes left to play.
Freshman Louis Walsh led the way for the Green and Gold. The first-year Saint fired a first-round 75, one keyed by an even-par 36 on the back nine. Walsh is tied for seventh, five shots behind individual leader Brandon Shin of Hofstra.
Shin also helped lead Hofstra to a 15-shot lead in the team standings, as the Pride posted a total of 291. Fairleigh Dickinson is second at 306, and Siena signed for a team total of 310. In total, eight teams shot between 306 and 313, leaving plenty of room for fluctuation in the second round.
That second round tees off on Monday.
