Results 
The Siena swimming and diving season kicked-off Friday evening at the Northeast Catholic Invite in Chestnut Hill, Mass. hosted by Boston College. The swimming and diving team finished the day in fifth place, recording 105 points. Boston College leads the Catholic Invite with 425.50 points.
"Overall, I thought we competed well in the first session. Our newcomers stepped up and that was great to see," said Coach Paul Kueterman. "Our upperclassmen were tremendous with their leadership and we will be able to take tonight and build upon it for a great finish tomorrow."
The Saints competed in five events and compiled three top-5 finishes. The 200-yard free relay team of Maggie Fletcher, Dana Tricarico, Colleen McDonough and Shannon Love earned the Saints' best result after finishing fourth (1:42.12) behind two Boston College teams and a relay team from Iona.
The Saints Shannon Love earned her second top-5 finish after completing the 50-yard individual free in 25.06 seconds. Emily Carideo earned the Saints third top-5 finish. Carideo finished fifth in the 500 yard free in 5:20.03.
Newcomer Dory Miller earned a top-10 finish in the 200-yard IM on Friday night. She finished eighth, coming in with a total time of 2:18.70.
The Saints had a strong performance in the 400-yard medley relay with two teams finishing under 4:20.0. The relay team of Katherine Canavan, Kelsey Helin, Amanda York and Carideo finished in seventh place in 4:13.42. Joining them were the relay team of Emily Hovey, Lauren Daly, Dory Miller and Colleen McDonough, finishing in eleventh place in 4:18.67.
The Saints performed well today and they look to continue their success at the Catholic Invitational tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
