Siena swimming traveled to the University of Vermont on Saturday afternoon. The Saints had a tough meet, winning two out of 13 events, dropping the match 132-90.
The relay team of Shannon Love, Colleen McDonough, Amanda York and Dana Tricarico won the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:43.76. The Saints also won the 100-yard breaststroke behind the strong performance of Kelsey Helin. Helin finished with a time of 1:13.22. Junior Jacque Medina earned a top-3 finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Medina finished with a time of 11:06.32.
Emily Carideo finished the day with two top-3 finishes. Carideo came in second place in the 500-yard freestlye with a final time of 5:19.32. She would also finish third in the 200-yard free in 2:00.35.
Dory Miller continued her strong start to the season with a third place finish in the 200-yard IM. Miller finished with a time of 2:19.85.
Rounding out the rest of the top finishers for the Saints are Amanda York, finishing second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.67. Shannon Love added to her relay win with a third place finish in the 100-yard free in 00:57.10 and Emily Hovey earned her top-3 finish in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:03.29.
The Saints have their home opener this weekend against Wagner on November 9 starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Siena Swim Center at the Marcelle Athletic Complex.
