Help Siena Stomp Out Homelessness

Dec. 3, 2013

Siena Women's Basketball looks to Stomp Out Homelessness when the Saints host Buffalo Saturday at 2 p.m. at the ARC. Fans can purchase an Official Stomp Out Homelessness t-shirt at the game for just $5 in addition to making donations with proceeds going to Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless.

Stomp Out Homelessness is a series of local sporting events bringing youth groups, businesses and sports fans together in a fun and interactive way to fight homelessness. Proceeds benefit IPH, an agency building stronger communities by empowering individuals and families who are homeless or facing homelessness to become self-sufficient.

At halftime, all fans are encouraged and invited to come down to the court and join fellow stompers in dancing the "Cha Cha Slide" in a fun and symbolic way to end homelessness.

Stomp Out Homelessness started simply as an awareness piece, bringing IPH staff, homeless clients and community members together in an effort to end homelessness. The Siena Women's Basketball program has teamed up with IPH for the past several years, making routine visits to the facility while also hosting annual Stomp Out Homelessness games to raise money and awareness for the cause.
