The reborn Siena volleyball team kept rolling along Sunday. The Saints swept Quinnipiac (25-22, 25-17, 25-23) in Hamden, Conn. for their fourth straight win (all on the road), improving to 5-1 in the MAAC.
Meghann Wright led all players with 15 kills and Rachel Stoklosa joined her in double figures with 10 on the outside for Siena (7-10, 5-1). Haley Howell dished out 36 assists and collected eight digs, and Bobbi Lin Kalama finished off another great weekend with 19 digs and a match-high three aces from her libero post.
The first set was tied 20-20 when Stoklosa and Howell put together back-to-back kills to give the Saints control. Wright took over the second set early, helping the Saints build a 19-9 lead on their way to a 25-17 victory to go up 2-0 at the break. The Bobcats led the third set 22-21, but the Saints scored four of the last five points, ending things on a kill by promising freshman Samantha Pethokoukis.
Pethokoukis killed all five of her attacks for the Saints, combining with Jacqueline Skeen to provide balance in the middle.
Sierra Dawson had 27 assists, four kills and six digs for Quinnipiac (2-15, 0-5).
The Saints host the Bobcats Wednesday night at the ARC at 7 p.m.
