The Siena Swimming & Diving team put together a dominant showing in their first MAAC meet of the season defeating Manhattan 137-80. Six different Saints won individual events on the afternoon.
The Saints started the meet on the right foot when the relay team of Fiona Dretzka, Kelsey Helin, Amanda York and Shannon Love took home first place in the 200-medley relay, swimming a 1:54.06. Megan Grace would pick up the first of her two individual wins, winning the 1000 free for the fifth straight time, with a time of 10:56.54. She would later go on to win the 500 free and has swept both distance events in all but one dual meet this season.
The Saints would win nine of the first 10 events with Jacque Medina winning the 200 free, Love winning the 50 and 100 free and York winning the 200 fly. Dretzka won her second individual race of the season swimming a 2:14.25 in the 200 back.
On the diving side Michelle Swanson picked up 18 total points for the Saints scoring 173.15 in the 1-meter and 204.05 in the 3-meter dive.
"This was a great meet for our team," said head coach Paul Kueterman, "It was great to get a win in our first MAAC meet and this really sets us up well for the ECAC Championships in a couple of weeks."
The Saints are next in action December 5-7 as they compete in the ECAC Championships. Last season Siena finished third in the 17-team field.
