The Moment
Nov. 14 - Siena Women's Basketball freshman Margot Hetzke exploded on to the scene, posting a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds in her collegiate debut in leading the Saints to a season-opening 58-50 win at Mid-American Conference preseason favorite Buffalo. Trailing by seven points with less than five minutes remaining, Hetzke scored the game-tying basket as the Saints ended the game on a 15-0 run to rally past the Bulls.

Why We Loved It
The win coupled with Hetzke's breakout start helped fuel the Saints to three straight wins to begin the season, marking the Saints' best start in 21 years

Behind the Scenes
Hetzke's debut was not an aberration. Through her first nine games she ranks third in the MAAC in scoring (15.2), rebounding (7.6) and offensive rebounding (3.3) and has been named the conference's Rookie of the Week four times in the first six weeks.

Did You Know?
Hetzke's 29-point performance was tied for the fourth highest scoring output by a women's basketball freshman in their collegiate debut in NCAA Division I history

Quotable
"I told her to have fun and she had alot of fun tonight. I'm just really proud of her. She's worked so hard. She's not an orthodox player. She's got signs of Lily Grenci in her. She's just a tough, hard nosed kid that has it where it counts. She has a big heart and she's just alot of fun to coach." -Head coach Ali Jaques
