LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Women's Basketball hosts MAAC rival Fairfield in the Saints' annual #GoldRush and National Girls and Women in Sports Day Game at 2 p.m. at the ARC. Gameday Central coverage begins with the Berkshire Bank Pregame Show at 1:30 p.m. locally on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint" and online at SienaAllAccess.com.
The first 400 fans in attendance will receive gold pom poms and fans are encouraged to wear gold to the game in an attempt to "Gold Out" the ARC.
The Saints (7-19, 2-15) will also be celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day, a program that promotes equitable and quality sports opportunities for all girls and women. Girls Inc. will be in attendance and at the half the Saints will be honoring student athletes and coaches from all of Siena's 11 women's athletic programs.
Mike Demos and Steve Amedio have the call of the game beginning with pregame coverage at 1:30 p.m. Fans can both watch and listen to the action online exclusively at SienaAllAccess.com in addition to tuning into the radio broadcast locally on WVCR 88.3 FM "The Saint."
The game marks the Saints' penultimate home contest of the season against arguably the program's biggest conference rival, Fairfield (18-8, 13-4). The Saints and Stags have met in the MAAC Tournament in eight of the past nine years and the first meeting this season between the programs last month in Bridgeport was another classic.
Siena rallied from six points down with 17.2 seconds left in regulation, but Fairfield's Felicia DaCruz hit the front end of a one-and-one with eight tenths of a second left in overtime to lift the Stags to a 66-65 victory.
