Senior Sean Fogarty finished 29th overall to lead the Siena Men's Cross Country team to a ninth place finish out of 38 teams at the 20th Annual James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. Sophomore Gina D'Angelo paced three Siena women in the 5K race with a time of 21:02.95.
"Today was another opportunity for some of our racers to get in another meet to get ready for the MAAC Championships in three weeks," said head coach John Kenworthy.
Fogarty clocked in with a time of 27:17.10 to lead the Saints in the men's 8K race. Sophomore Eric Brower (27:25.74) and freshman Mike Mahoney (27:39.99) rounded out Siena's top-three.
On the women's side, senior Kristen Lancto ran a time of 21:10.05 and sophomore Nicole Romanzo finished in 23:38.41.
The Saints return to the course Saturday for the crosstown UAlbany Invitational in the squad's final tune-up prior to the MAAC Championships on Halloween. The women's 5K race is set to begin at 11:45 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at 12:30.
