Siena Men's Cross Country recorded the program's highest ever finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional, placing 23rd overall in a stacked field at Franklin Park in Boston Mass. Senior Nick Miller also achieved the squad's highest ever individual finish in crossing the finish line in 73rd place in the 247-runner field with a 10K time of 32:13.

"Overall, we're continuing to take steps forward," explained head coach John Kenworthy. "The women's team scored more than 100 points less than last year, and the men's team moved up five spots to earn our highest team finish ever. Those are both positives we can walk away from the meet with, but it was by no means our best day. But I'm happy we can have just average type of days and still see improvements from past year's results."

The men's 23rd place finish broke the previous program record of 25th achieved in the 2005 race. Additionally, senior Tom Higgins finished 109th overall (32:46) to give Siena the program's two highest-ever individual finishes in an NCAA Northeast Regional. Amongst the eight MAAC schools, Siena finished fourth in crossing the finish line ahead of Manhattan, Fairfield, Quinnipiac and Niagara.

Meanwhile the women placed 32nd of 38th teams in the 6K race and sixth of eight MAAC schools in beating out Fairfield and Niagara. Junior Shannon Bauer crossed the finish line in a time of 22:40, with senior Christie MacFarlane checking in at 23:22.

The Saints conclude their cross country season next Saturday with the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx before opening the program's first-ever official winter track season in December.
