Hofstra swept the doubles matches and then won five of six singles contests to defeat Siena 6-1 in the Saints' spring opener Sunday night on long Island. Alessandro Saglia won his match at No. 6 singles to register Siena's only point.

Beau Wills and Darren Reisch staged a tight contest at top singles with Willis holding on for a 7-5 and 6-4 win. The closest match of the night was Niko Vulinovich's 6-3, 3-6 and 10-6 super tiebreaker win over Alex Burbine at No. 3 singles.
