Vince Gravino scored the decisive goal just 28 seconds into overtime as Canisius rallied late past Siena Lacrosse 10-9 in snowy Buffalo. Senior captain Richie Hurley led the way with four points for the Saints.

Siena (4-5, 1-2) held a 33-28 edge in shots, 27-21 margin in groundballs and scored the first four goals of the game. Although Canisius (2-7, 2-1) would rally, the Saints took a three-goal cushion at 7-4 into the final quarter.

But the Golden Griffins erupted for five scores in the final period, the last of which came from Gravino which gave Canisius its first lead 9-8 with just 45 seconds remaining. However Siena won the ensuing faceoff and senior captain Ryan Mallon netted the equalizer with just 20 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

In the extra session Canisius won the opening draw and after calling a timeout, Gravino struck again for the game-winner as Siena suffered its second straight late one-goal conference road loss.

Mallon finished with three points, while sophomore Jordan Barlow contributed two goals. Sophomore longstick midfielder Joe Arcarese and senior captain Jake Kissick added their first collegiate goals.

Tim Edwards and Cody Gould joined Gravino in each scoring twice for Canisius and Alex Govenettio made 14 saves in goal.

The Saints open a season long four-game homestand, the team's final four home games, with a non-conference battle Tuesday against Hartford at 3:30 p.m. at Siena Turf Field.
