April 10, 2015 Final Stats
Niagara and Siena played deep into the night Friday at the Tri City Tennis Club in Latham with the Purple Eagles emerging with a 7-0 sweep. Darren Reisch hung tough at top singles before succumbing 6-4 and 7-6 to Niagara ace Michael Elortegui.
Niagara swept the doubles contests to start the match up 1-0. The tightest contest came at No. 1 doubles where Elortegui and Inaki Belloso held off Reisch and Diego Lebron 8-6.
Eric Sumanaru teamed with Joe Diorio in an 8-5 loss at No. 3 doubles for Siena, but the Saints' regular No. 4 wasn't able to continue into singles play, forcing several players to move up in rotation.
Siena hosts Saint Peter's Saturday at noon in Schenectady's Central Park - it's the final home match of the season and the program will recognize its four seniors prior to first serve.
