Nine Red Foxes scored as Marist defeated Siena Lacrosse 15-4 in the Saints' season finale in Poughkeepsie. Siena ends their 2015 season with a final record of 5-9 including a 2-4 mark in the MAAC.
The Saints held a 44-41 edge in shots, but Marist (11-3, 6-0) goalie Dave Scarcello made 12 saves for the MAAC Regular Season Champion Red Foxes.
Marist led 6-2 at the half and ultimately scored five straight goals to open a 9-2 lead midway through the third quarter to pull away.
Jordan Barlow, Ryan Mallon, Conor Prunty and Chris Robertson each scored a goal apiece for the Saints. Senior captain Richie Hurley added his 90th career assist to finish third in program history in helpers and sixth overall in scoring with 173 points.
Senior Casey Dowd won 10 faceoffs and picked up five groundballs. Dowd ends his stellar career by moving into a tie for fifth in NCAA Division I history with Hofstra's Joseph Carrello '91 with 472 career groundballs. Dowd's 772 career faceoff wins are sixth most in NCAA history.
JD Recor led Marist with five points and Drew Nesmith and Joseph Radin added four points apiece for the Red Foxes which had previously clinched the No. 1 seed in the MAAC Championships which they are hosting beginning next weekend at Tenney Stadium.
