Siena Swimming and Diving was back at it again Thursday for the second day of the MAAC Championships. The Saints participated in four events: 500 Free, the 200 IM, the 50 Free and the 200 Yard Free Relay.

In the first event for Siena, Emma Rupert was the top finisher, taking 13th in a time of 5:13.12.

Sophomore Fiona Dretzka swam a time of 2:10.83 in the A Final of the 200 IM while senior captain Emily Carideo took 13th in the B Final of the 200 IM. Other notable performances for Siena came from freshman Francesca Tinucci finished 8th in the 50 Free in a time of 24.51 to secure 11 points for the Saints. In the very same event, Maggie Davenport took sixth in the B Final of the 50 Free.

In the lone relay event of the day, the Siena team of Davenport, Colleen McDonough, Maggie Fletcher and Tinucci took seventh in the 200 Yard Free Relay.

After day two, the Saints are in sixth place with a total of 136 points. Marist is the front-runner so far with 325 points after 13 events, 136 points clear of second-place Rider.

Siena will be back in the pool tomorrow at 10 a.m. for the third day of the Championships. The morning session will consist of the preliminaries of the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back and 1-Meter Dive events. The 5 p.m. session will consist of the finals of many of the aforementioned events.
