Hot Shooting Leads Saints Past Broncs

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.- Brett Bisping scored 24 points, including his benchmark 1000th and added 18 rebounds as men's basketball swept the season series with Rider, defeating the Broncs 84-64 on Friday night at Alumni Gymnasium. Marquis Wright played 25 minutes in his first game action since December 29th.

"It was a really solid effort, said head coach Jimmy Patsos."Not many people are going to come in here and make 11 threes."

Siena led the majority of the way, their largest lead being 20 late in the second half. The Saints shot a scorching 11 for 21 from three (52.4%). Ryan Oliver led Siena in that category, going three of five from distance.

The Broncs would get as close as 12 points in the second half, but Siena would not be denied on this night. Kahlil Thomas led Rider with 18 points, five rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes.

Siena eclipsed the 80 point mark for the 13th time this season, improving their record to 16-5 when they do so. The Saints are now a perfect 14-0 in 2015-16 when holding their opponents under 70 points.

Siena also improves to 8-7 this season when they shoot at least 40% from the field and are now 12-1 when they hold their opponents under 40%. . The Saints return home to the Times Union Center on Monday at 7 p.m. for a rematch with Iona, a team Siena defeated 81-78 in New Rochelle last Saturday.
