Griffin Feiner scored four goals and Justin Huggins added a hat trick as Hartford defeated Siena Lacrosse 15-4 in non-conference action in Connecticut. The Saints out-shot the Hawks 41-34, but three Hawks goalies combined to make 20 saves.
Hartford (8-4) scored the first five goals and led wire-to-wire in winning their fourth in a row. Nonetheless, Siena (2-8) continued to pepper the Hawks cage albeit with limited success. Ryan Vanderford made 12 saves over the first three quarters of action, while a pair of Hartford goalies combined to stop eight shots in the final period.
Siena won the battle at the faceoff X, holding a 12-11 advantage against the nation's top unit which had entered play winning 73% of its faceoffs. Sophomore Hunter Sanna led the way for the Saints, going 12-18 on faceoffs.
Jordan Barlow, Kevin Cousin, Eric Munn and Chris Robertson registered the Siena goals.
The Saints continue their three-game road trip Saturday with a 7 p.m. matchup at Manhattan.
