Freshman Sarah Forman recorded an individual victory to lead Siena Outdoor Track at Bryant's Black and Gold Invitational in Smithfield, R.I. Forman captured the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:27.38.
"Overall I'm happy with how the meet went today," said head coach John Kenworthy. "It was cold and wet all day, and I thought the team handled the poor conditions well and many took another good step forward. We're mainly looking to build some momentum at this point in the season and translate that to big late season performances, and I think today we accomplished that goal."
On the men's side, Travis Fairlee record the Saints' top finish placing second in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:00.68. William Randall also recorded a top-five time in the 5000-meter run, clocking in with a time of 15:37.13.
Christie MacFarlane also finished fifth in the women's 5000-meter with a time of 18:03.23. Serena Rizzo contributed a sixth place finish in the 1500-meter, finishing in a time of 4:54.13.
The Saints return to the track Friday for the Sam Howell Invitational hosted by Princeton.
