LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- The conference's leading scorer Joseph Radin tallied a game-high five points to lead defending MAAC Champion Marist past Siena Lacrosse 12-6 at Siena Turf Field. Sophomore attack Chris Robertson netted his second straight hat trick for the Saints.
After Robertson opened the scoring for the Saints (2-7, 1-3), Marist (5-5, 3-1) responded with the next four goals and built an 8-3 lead at the half. Siena held the Red Foxes off the scoreboard in the third quarter, but Marist scored four times in the final period to secure the victory.
Senior goalie Tommy Cordts made 11 saves for the Saints which controlled the groundball battle to the tune of a 34-24 margin, while also winning 13-21 faceoffs.
Radin finished with four goals to break Marist's all-time career record. Gannon Morrison added a pair of goals and assists and Brian Corrigan made 12 saves in goal for the Red Foxes.
Siena opens a three-game road trip with a non-conference matchup at Hartford Saturday at 1 p.m.
