Siena Announces Four Additions to Athletic Staff

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Siena Athletic Department announced the addition of four new members to the athletic staff. Steven Bari is the Compliance Coordinator. Paul Bianchi is the new Facility Manager. Jill Guarino is the Assistant Athletic Trainer/Administrator while Nic Piretti is the Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Bari was named the Compliance Coordinator and serves in the day-to-day operations of the NCAA Division I compliance program. He is in charge of monitoring all NCAA, MAAC and Siena rules as they apply to Siena's 350+ student athletes, 22 teams and coaches.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Saints family," Bari said. "I look forward to working with the coaching staffs, administrators and most of all the student athletes here at Siena College."

Prior to joining the Siena Saints, Bari was a graduate assistant in the compliance office at Manhattan College. In his two year stint with the Jaspers, he assisted the Athletic Director of Compliance in monitoring the rules education program. Bari generated and processed the National Letters of Intent and Financial Aid Agreements for prospective student-athletes.

"With his knowledge, attention to detail and work ethic, Steven has been a tremendous asset to our department," Lori Anctil, Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator, stated. "We've all enjoyed getting to know Steven and appreciate his approach to making Siena Athletics better every day."

Bari graduated with his Associates Degree in General Studies from Louisiana State University -- Eunice in May 2010. He then received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2013. Bari is pursuing his Master's in Organizational Leadership at Manhattan College where he is expected to graduate in August 2016.

Paul Bianchi

Bianchi was named the Athletic Facilities Manager and will oversee all of the athletic facilities. He will also prepare facilities for all game-day operations.

"Paul is an extremely hard worker and a quick learner," said Ken Grant, Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities. "He has the knowledge and knows what it takes to help run a successful athletics department. Paul is a great addition to the Siena family."

Prior to coming to Siena, Bianchi served as the Event Management & Operations Assistant at the University of New Hampshire. He oversaw the facilities and game-day operations while also preparing and managing all athletic facilities. Bianchi created the Inaugural Granite State Cup Hockey Game for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His work helped raise $6,000 for the foundation as well as bring in 600 guests.

Before taking on his role at the University of New Hampshire, Bianchi worked as the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operation at Seacoast United. He was in charge of all preparation and management of the multiple athletic facilities as well as the coordination and training of part-time staff. Bianchi created new programs and ideas to enhance the company's brand. He generated $150,000 in revenue through various youth programs. Previous to the Assistant Director role, Bianchi was the Facility Management/Marketing Intern. He had roles in administrative, facility operations and coaching duties. Bianchi created several marketing videos and presentations for partnering agreement proposals. He supervised the facilities and well as creating youth development programs.

At the University of New Hampshire, Bianchi started off as the Marketing and Revenue Generation Intern. In this role he led marketing research as well as heading research for the yearly budget proposal. Bianchi was also a Ticket Sales Representative where he was in charge of both single-game and season ticket sales as well as all ticket operations.

Bianchi received his Bachelor's Degree in Program and Event Management from the University of New Hampshire in 2015. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Guarino has been named the Assistant Athletic Trainer/Administrator in the Sports Medicine Office. She previously worked for Siena in the Sports Medicine Office.

"I am elated to have Jill back with us."Greg Dashnaw, Head Athletic Trainer stated. "As my former assistant, we're all looking forward to having her knowledge, experience and forthrightness to assist us."

She comes to Siena after working for Breg Inc. since 2013. First Guarino served as an Associate Sales Representative where she covered New York and Vermont helping the Sales Representative with existing accounts. She would grow territory and sell products and services to new accounts as well. Guarino was then named a Sales Representative in 2015. She covered New York, Vermont and Western Massachusetts with product growth and account maintenance. Guarino worked with hospitals and offices on their GPO contracts.

Guarino is no stranger to Siena as she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2003 until 2013. She would perform all of the daily operations in the training room. Guarino was also tasked with training student athletes in proper function and care of athletic injuries and rehabilitation. She had to deal with both orthopedic surgeons and general practitioners regarding athlete care.

She has also worked as an Athletic Trainer at Athletic Dynamics and High Performance Sports Medicine. At Athletic Dynamics, Guarino was in charge of the daily conditioning of athletes at Albany Academy for Girls. She worked with novice to elite athletes on functional enhancement for improved performance. While at High Performance Sports Medicine, Guarino worked with orthopedic surgeons and assisted in weekly surgeries. She would create and develop personalized strength and conditioning programs as well as instruct athlete in correct sport specific exercises.

Guarino earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Athletic Training from North Adams State College in 1997 where she graduated Cum Laude. She then earned her Master of Arts in Education/Biomechanics in 2001 from the University of Connecticut.

Nic Piretti

Piretti returns to the Sports Medicine department where he last served as an intern two years ago. He will bring experiences from five colleges, one high school and one rehab clinic as both an athletic training student and certified trainer to Siena.

"Nic did a terrific job serving as my intern two years ago," said Dashnaw. "His past experiences at the high school and college level have contributed to his success in the training room."

Piretti's most recent experience comes from his work as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Performance Rehab Inc. in Nashua, New Hampshire. He assisted the physical therapists with patient's rehabilitation exercises and notes. Piretti also provided coverage for Nashua South High School's athletic teams.

Before working at Performance Rehab Inc., he was a certified athletic training intern at Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute for a year. There he provided coverage for the football, men's and women's basketball, men's lacrosse, men's and women's ice hockey and field hockey programs. Piretti served as in athletic training intern at Siena in 2014. He assisted in coverage of the men's lacrosse program.

Piretti's experience includes working at Williams College where he assisted in practices, games and match coverage for the football and wrestling program as well as covering lacrosse, soccer, basketball, pole vault, softball and football camps at Gettysburg College. At Mount Anthony High School he covered wrestling as well as boy's and girl's lacrosse. Piretti began his athletic training experience at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he would perform evaluations, provide treatment and assist in rehabilitation exercises for the men's and women's soccer and basketball programs.

The Lenox, Massachusetts native graduated from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts where he earned his Bachelor's degree in athletic training in May 2014.
