The Moment
Jan. 24 - Siena Basketball shot a remarkable 66% from the field in a 99-78 win over Canisius in Buffalo. The Saints' 66% field goal percentage was the best for a road MAAC team since the Saints joined the conference in 1989, and tied for the best in the 48-year history of the Koessler Athletic Center.
Lavon Long scored a career-high 25 points in shooting a perfect 7-7 from the field and 11-11 from the free throw line, in becoming the first Division I player in 15 years to to make at least seven field goals and 11 free throws without a miss.
As a team, Siena dished out 27 assists which matched the program's most in 16 years. Additionally, the Saints' 99 points scored were their most in seven years and most in a true road game in 16 years.
Buoyed by an impressive triumph on the opening leg of their annual Western New York swing, Siena completed the sweep two days later at Niagara to record their first sweep of the Buffalo trip in eight seasons.
