March 10, 2017 Siena Men's Golf stands 12th following the first 36 of 54 holes at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Freshman Jake Holt is currently tied for 26th individually to pace the Saints.
Ball State holds just a one stroke lead over Old Dominion through the first two rounds of action on Pinehurst No. 8. The Saints hold a three-shot advantage over closest challenger Xavier, and are 14 strokes behind nearest competitors Belmont, Morehead State and Northern Kentucky.
Holt recorded three birdies and 21 pars on the first day of action. After shooting an opening round score of 79, he rebounded to record the Saints' low round of the day in carding a 74. Junior Michael Christifulli fired rounds of 77 and 82 in recording Siena's second best individual finish of the day.
Final round action tees off Saturday morning.
