LOUDONVILLE, NY – For the second consecutive year, Siena Men's Golf is set to host the Murray Cup at Schuyler Meadows Golf Course in Loudonville, NY, adjacent to campus. The Saints will welcome sister school Saint Bonaventure to town for their second home meet in program history.
Tee time for the match is set for 8:30 a.m., with nine individual matches between golfers from the Saints' and Bonnies' squads set to go head-to-head in 18-hole competition. A win in each match is worth two points, with the team with the most points declared the winner following the action.
The Murray Cup is set for 18 holes and will be scored as a hybrid stroke play and match play. Each pairing will be playing for two possible points. One point will be awarded to the player who shoots the lowest individual score for the round, and the other point will be awarded to the player who wins the most holes in their individual matchup.
In what will be a third straight day of competition, Siena will look to capture its first ever win in the event, which saw Saint Bonaventure take an 11-5 victory in the inaugural running on Oct. 3, 2017. Seniors
Tanner Donovan and
James Pelcher return as Saints golfers who took wins in their individual matchups at last year's affair.
Siena and Saint Bonaventure have had multiple occasions to become acquainted with each other already this season, having both competed at September's Cornell Invitational and the Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational, which took place Sunday and Monday in Apalachin, New York.
Located at 17 Schuyler Meadows Club Road in Loudonville, Schuyler Meadows was designed by Devereux Emmet and first opened in 1927.
