For the second consecutive season, Siena Swimming & Diving will begin its schedule with a dual meet against MAAC foe Rider. Looking to rebound from last year's 134-160 loss at home, the Saints will travel to Lawrenceville, New Jersey to begin their 20th season of competition on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 1 PM.
"I look forward to us beginning the season with a strong conference opponent in Rider," Head Coach
Paul Kueterman said. "We will have an opportunity to see where we are as a team and get a feel for how we can improve moving forward. It's always good to see the team racing in against competition, so I'm excited to see them go off the blocks and start the year."
Entering his ninth year at the helm of the program, Kueterman will look to improve on a 4-6 meet record from last season, including a 3-1 conference dual meet mark and a seventh place finish at the 2018 MAAC Championship.
Headlined by 2018 MAAC 200 Fly Bronze Medalist
Julianna Sebastian, the Saints return 13 swimmers from last season. The Getzville, NY native joined senior captain
Elizabeth Fournier in recording a top-8 finish at last year's conference final, with Sebastian placing third and Fournier finishing eighth.
Incoming senior
Maggie Davenport (free/breast),
Emma Rupert (free/IM) and
Francesca Tinucci will also look to help lead Siena to victory in the coming season, with Davenport serving as a team captain alongside Fournier.
The team opens up dual meet competition at home on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 7 PM in the Siena Swim Center against the Crusaders of Holy Cross.
