Siena (3-7-3, 2-3) dropped a tough conference road match in overtime last week, falling to Quinnipiac, 1-0 on Oct. 10. Freshman goalkeeper Greg Monroe collected five saves as the team hold up defensively against 18 shots in regulation to force extra time, their fifth such contest of the 2018 season. Birgir Thorsteinsson and Tim Ugo steadied the squad offensively, with each firing off a pair of shots.

The team continues to be led by freshman Aaron Martin, who has three of goals and a pair assists to his name 13 games into his rookie season. The Madrid, Spain native is the first Siena player to receive MAAC Rookie of the Week honors three times in a season, doing to on Aug. 27, Sept. 3 and Oct. 1.  Helping the Green and Gold to stand tied for first in the league in saves (66), Monroe played in-goal for the entirety of the team's last 11 contests, amounting a 1.53 goals-against-average and a .750 save percentage on the season.

Riding a five-game winning streak into Wednesday's contest, Fairfield (8-4, 5-0) stands alone as the only undefeated team in league on the year. The defending MAAC champions have outscored conference opponents 14-5 thus fa  and have seen two players pick up conference weekly honors. Leading goal-scorer Diego Casielles (four) took home Offensive Player of The Week on Sept. 10, while Cormac Pike was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 8.

Competing against each other as conference opponents regularly since 1990, the Stags hold a 18-7-5 advantage in the all-time series. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in last season's meeting, with Alejandro Riquelme netting the Saints' lone goal in the Fairfield, Connecticut-based affair.
