Maria Pansari facilitated the Bobcat offense, accumulating 36 total assists, while Alejandra Rodriguez chipped in with 12 digs. As a team, Quinnipiac hit .453 on the match, including .593 in the third set.
"The team started the match composed and disciplined, and in our practice environment we are that way as well," said head coach
Vilis Ozols. "Our challenge remains to bring that to the match environment."
In the first set, the Saints had the fast start grabbing an early 4-1 lead over the first five rallies. The Bobcats closed the gap fast, as the teams fought and traded the lead until Quinnipiac grabbed some room with a 14-11 lead. That would spur an 11-4 run by the visitors, giving the Bobcats a 25-15 win in the set and a 1-0 lead in the match.
After a 5-5 score in the second set, Quinnipiac would take advantage once again and spin off a 9-2 run to take a 14-7 lead. That would lead to a quick finish for the Saints, as Miller and Sherwin took over and grabbed most of their kills over the back half of the second set. The Bobcats took the second set 25-16 to take the 2-0 lead. Set three would also keep the Saints from gaining traction in the match, as the Bobcats took a 7-0 lead. That would lead to a 25-10 set win for Quinnipiac, giving them the 3-0 win.
The Saints return to the floor this Saturday afternoon, October 20 when they head west to Buffalo for a matchup at Canisius. First serve is set to go up at 1 p.m.
