The Siena Men's Tennis team took to the road and won in deciding fashion, as they topped Rider by a final score of 6-1.
The Saints used wins on courts one and three on the match to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. The pairs of Tomos del Olmo and
Guillermo Torres, and
Sagar Bains and Alex Giannakitsidis took the wins to aid the Saints to the lead.
In singles, Siena would take five of six courts in straight sets, with the clinching being Mohammad Sawani grabbing a 6-3, 6-0 victory. The win would be Sawani's first MAAC match win as a Saint.
"The guys started a little slow in doubles but put it together," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "They looked pretty good the rest of the day."
The Saints return to the court this week on Thursday, October 11 when they head to the ITA Tournament in Princeton, NJ. Their next match doesn't come until January 25 when they face Colgate.
