The Siena Women's Tennis team has now won two dual matches in a row, as they also begin their MAAC slate with a victory as they defeated Rider by a final score of 5-2.
In doubles, the Saints won all three courts which included a forfeit, giving them a 1-0 as the matchup went into singles play.
Kylie Mullaney and
Meagan Brown took the win from the one spot, while it was
Dilara Spicer and
Nanea Perkins grabbed the win from the second spot.
In singles, the Saints took four of the six courts to take the match, as Siena also won the six spot singles on a forfeit. Making the clinching point was Brown, who won in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. The green and gold was solid throughout, as the lineup was adjusted due to injury.
"We had to deal with a couple of injuries today," said head coach
Jeff Osborn. "That forced some to play up two spots but we still managed to get the win."
The Saints return to the court this week on Thursday, October 11 when they head to the ITA Tournament in New Haven, CT.
