Siena Men's Golf saw a three-stroke improvement in its overall score on day two of the 2018 UCONN Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, Massachusetts Monday. The Saints carded +15, 303 in round two of the 54-hole affair, moving from 11th place to eighth out of the 13-team slate.

With +33, 609 through 36-holes in the tournament, the team leapfrogged MAAC foes Fairfield and Saint Peter's, as well as Cornell, following the improvement, placing them one stroke behind Lehigh (+32, 608) and two behind Rider and Colgate (+31, 607) who are knotted for fifth heading into the final day of competition.

September's MAAC Male Golfer of the Month Jared Nelson led the way for the Saints' five-man squad on the par-72, 7,093-yard course, firing a team-low +3, 75 to conclude the day in a tie for 18th place individually with nine other golfers.
Freshman Brad Whitaker and senior Jack Bellardini shot +4, 76 and +5, 77, landing in splits for 28th and 33rd place, respectively, following 36 holes of play.

Sophomore Jack Brown matched Nelson's 18-hole total in the second round, tying his low for the season for the third time. The Hudson, New Hampshire native moved up into a tie for 52nd place with the improved output.

Sophomore Pudge Williams rounded out the Green and Gold representatives at the event, carding a pair of birdies in a +10, 82 total to finish 69th on the outing.

In action for the fourth straight week to begin the fall 2018 season, the Saints will conclude play at the UCONN Invitational Tuesday morning, with round three commencing at 8:30 a.m in a double-tee start. The team will begin from hole 1.
