Siena swimming recorded three individual event wins, three personal-best times, 11 season-best marks and its first win of the 2018-19 season Saturday afternoon. The Saints defeated MAAC foe Manhattan, 143-116, while falling to Monmouth 142.5-118.5 in a conference tri-meet in Riverdale, NY.

Emma Rupert and
Elizabeth Fouriner and junior
Larissa Nanna were among the swimmers to post a season-best at the team's final regular-season competition of the 2018 calendar year. Rupert was victorious in the 100 yd freestyle with a time of 11:09.24 and swam her best 400-yard individual medley performance of the year, clocking in a 4:53,97 to finish second. Nanna took the 200-yard breaststroke with a season-best mark of 2:33.18, while Fournier won the 200-yard butterfly, posting a 1-2 finish with fellow-senior
Julianna Sebastian, and improved on her time in the 100-yard running of the event with 1:00.85.
Among other swimmers to post high marks on the campaign during the team's second tri-meet and sixth overall competition this year was senior
Carrie Bonvissuto, who broke her personal time in the 100-yard freestyle with a 56.89. Sophomore
Sydney Lautenslager set a new personal mark in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:24.22, while freshman
Isabel Harms did so in the 400-yard IM with a 4:56.66.
Additionally, the squad recorded its best time in the 200-yard medley relay to-date this year, with the combination of
Abigail Sheridan,
Shannon Leary, Fournier &
Rachel Brown laying down a 1:55.20 in the race. The team's victory over the Jaspers improves their head-to-head record in the series to a perfect 13-0, dating back to the 2001-02 campaign.
Through six regular season events this season, the Saints will now focus their attention on the ECAC Winter Championships, which will make the end of their Fall 2018 slate. The postseason meet, which features teams from throughout the eastern seaboard, will be held in East Meadow, NY from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
