LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Siena Field Hockey was named to the Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I National Academic Team. The Saints had five named to the Academic Squad and one Scholar of Distinction.
The team was recognized for the National Academic Team by achieving a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Field Hockey compiled a 3.14 cumulative team GPA for the fall semester.
Five Saints were also named to the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
Senior Molly Hagen, junior Katelyn McMahon, sophomore Brianna Muniz and freshmen Isabelle Kuzmich and Claire Quigley were named to the squad.
The Saints also boasted one Scholar of Distinction in Katelyn McMahon for the third year in a row. In order to be named a Scholar of Distinction, the student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher through the first semester.
