Siena Men's Golf stands 12th in a crowded and closely contested field of 19 teams through the First Round of action at Villanova's Wildcat Invitational at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pennsylvania. The Saints sit just 18 shots off the pace, and only eight strokes back of fourth.
Drexel was the lone team under par Monday, with a First Round score of 282 (-2) to claim the clubhouse lead by eight strokes over both St. John's and Saint Peter's. Siena is currently third out of five MAAC teams in the event, trailing the Peacocks by 10 strokes and Iona by just one, while leading both Rider and Monmouth by two shots.
Jake Holt fired a First Round score of 73 to remain in contention at just five strokes back of clubhouse leader David Powers of Saint Peter's. Jack Bellardini and Michael Christifulli also contributed to a balanced Siena attack, with rounds of 74 and 75, respectively.
Second Round action tees off Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
